Panama City, come enjoy the beautiful white sand beaches in this friendly tourist destination!

Panama City was founded in 1909 and is most popularly known for being a great tourist location year round with great weather and a friendly atmosphere. Panama City has plenty of entertainment, water sports, fishing, and so much more.  Panama City offers lots of different activities for the kids from arcades, surf wear shops, go-cart courses, to roller coasters.

What to Do
Panama City is a family-friendly destination. Take a ride on the Bay Town Trolley (850-769-0557) and let it take you around Panama City. Whether you want to go to antique malls, galleries, theatres, or even the Panama City Mall (850-769-3659) the Bay Town Trolley is the way to go.

If you want to be explore fascinating exhibits and learn more about scuba diving visit the Museum of Man in the Sea (850-235-4101). Exhibits on display feature equipment that has been used in or related to underwater activities. But if you want to see more, such as widlife animals visit the Zoo World (850-230-4839). There, you can even hand-feed a giraffe.

Don't miss Gulf World Marine Park (850-234-5271, www.gulfworldmarinepark.com/) where you can enjoy daily shows ranging from the dolphin and sea lion performances to shark and turtle feeding.

But if you want to see the best part of Panama City visit the beautiful beaches along the gulf. Panama City offers 27 miles of stunning white sand (the white sand is actually quartz crystals that over time have been broken down, bleached, polished), emerald green waters resulting in the "World's Most Beautiful Beaches." If you want to enjoy the beach without all of the frills, you'll find it at 1,260-acre St. Andrews State Recreation Area (800-326-3521), located 3 miles east of Panama City Beach on a peninsula near the Grand Lagoon. The park offers camping, swimming, canoeing, snorkeling, diving, hiking, picnicking and beuatiful scenery.

Where to Eat
You will have so many choices in this neck of the Panhandle. Along Massolina Bayou (near Panama City Marina), a few fine choices are steps away from each other. Get casual at Bayou Joe's (850- 763-6442, www.bayoujoes.com), a popular hangout. At Bayou Joe's you get the best of both worlds, delicious foods with a rustic water view.  Also at Bay Point Marina is 30 Degree Blue (850-236-1115, http://www.baypointmarina.net/therestaurants.cfm), which offers a magnificant view of the Grand Lagoon.  Come enjoy many different foods with beers from around the world.

Try Limes Bar and Grill (http://marriottbaypoint.com/?page_id=67) and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere at the end of the pier behind the Bay Point Marriot Resort.  After a long day on the water come unwind with a frosty margarita with live music on deck.

If you want to enjoy some bold flavors check out Kingfish Restaurant & Sushi Bar (850-236-6075).  Come see the view of St. Andrews Bay in the casual enviroment. With food made from an award winning culinary team you won't be dissapointed.
