It’s no wonder that so many boaters have Georgia on their minds, and there are plenty of marinas in Georgia to accommodate boaters' interest. Georgia offers a myriad of attractions along its 100 mile coast. Those attractions include the thirteen barrier islands that dot the coastline. A select few of these are known as the Golden Isles of Georgia which include St. Simons Island, Sea Island, Jekyll Island, and Little St. Simons Island. The Golden Isles offer activities such as golf and tennis as well as sunning and swimming at their beaches. Boaters should not overlook Georgia’s charming coastal cities either. The city of Savannah, Georgia, which is located at the head of the Savannah River, contains a historical district which consists of 22 park-like squares. A marina in Savannah is an ideal stop for boaters interested in its historical attractions and cultural activities. South of Savannah, the city of Brunswick, Georgia is bordered on the east by the Intracoastal Waterway which separates the city from St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island. Once known as the ‘Shrimp Capital of the World’, this historic city boasts restored Victorian homes alongside bustling boutiques and businesses. The Peach State offers activities and attractions for all boaters to enjoy while visiting marinas in Georgia.
