Newport Yacht Club and Marina is located in the heart of the Newport community in Jersey City, New Jersey. Between 1950 and 1980, this area had lost 75,000 residents and over 5,000 jobs and the railroads and shipping docks had fallen into disuse and decay. In the 1980s, The LeFrak Organization saw an opportunity and developed much of the Jersey City waterfront into what is now Newport, home to many restaurants, office buildings, apartments and condos, and a large indoor shopping mall. The marina, built around 1989, is an integral part of this development.

The location is by far the greatest asset of the marina. Located directly across the Hudson River from New York City, this property offers a spectacular view of the New York skyline. Additionally, only a five-minute walk to the Path train and you can be in the heart of Manhattan in 15 minutes. Newark Airport and the New Jersey Turnpike are also a very short distance away.
