Description for Block Island Boat Basin
At this point, there has been no resolution in the ongoing managerial negotiations for the Boat Basin. The Boat Basin may or may not be open this season. We, like all of you, wish that we had different news to share. While there is always the chance that this will be resolved in time for the season, we only feel it is fair to notify every one of their other options. Champlin’s Marina will take reservations. You can make a reservation here: www.marinalife.com/reservations/2046-champlins-marina-resort-block-island-ri Payne’s Dock accepts boats on a “first come” basis. The town moorings are also done on a “first come” basis. Moorings are managed by the New Shoreham Harbormaster (401) 466-3204 and all questions should be directed to their office. There is an 8 slip marina in OLD HARBOR which will take reservations. This is a floating dock with water and power, located adjacent to the public bathrooms/showers and they do not raft boats. Reservations can be made here by calling 401-465-3136.
There are no fuel prices listed for this marina

Onsite Oar Restaurant is decorated with close to 1,000 oars of all sizes and shapes covering walls, ceiling and halls. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner - inside or out -- all tables have great views. Onsite rentals for bikes, cars, kayaks and a taxi stand. This is the only marina with single cement dockage on Block Island that accomodates transients. BI has over 32 miles of hiking trails. Two lighthouses with museums are within biking distance. Bikes are the most common form or transportation on the island.
