The Yacht Basin is centrally located (just about 6 miles away) for visits to the Ritz-Carlton, and more distant Amelia Island Plantation -- two well-known vacation resorts that pride themselves on hospitality and celebration. The Island holds an annual Shrimp Festival (May), a Kingfish Tournament and Chamber Music Festival (Jun), and a Book Festival (Oct). Two important weekends in this town occur during the Florida-Georgia football game each fall, when border rivalries reign, and during December's tour of bed-and-breakfasts, when the island's many inns open their doors to display holiday finery.
You'll find Amelia Island Marina approximately 5 miles south of the St. Mary's Inlet on the east side of the ICW, statute mile 721 (just south of day marker 13) and immediately north of the twin span A1A fixed bridge.
