Description for Postcard Inn Beach Resort & Marina
Postcard Inn Beach Resort & Marina (formerly Holiday Isle) is a premier resort located in the Florida Keys with 143 guest rooms, efficiencies, and suites along with 15 acres of white sand beach. Pools, restaurants, bars, shops, and free entertainment await. Scuba diving and snorkeling and all the popular watersports are here. An entire fleet of back country and deep sea charters can take you fishing. The marina at Postcard Inn Resort (PCI) offers transient dockage, boat rentals, diving and snorkeling trips, sunset cruises and a large charter boat fleet, including a 74' Party Fishing Boat. One of the most exciting Keys experience is fishing. Nowhere else in the country do you have two completely different but equally challenging types of fishing. On one side of US 1 there is flats fishing in the backcountry of Florida Bay. Just on the other side of the highway is the Atlantic, with offshore, deep-sea fishing.

Theater of the Sea (9:30am-4pm $19.50, an educational and entertaining marine animal park) is right next door. The shows are up close and the animals live in natural salt-water lagoons. Enjoy dolphin, sea lion, and parrot shows and guided tours of marine life exhibits, a lagoon-side beach, and the bottomless boat ride ($24/16); or dolphin, sea lion & ray swims ($50-150). Listen in on conversations at the Ocean View Pub and Sports Bar across the street and hear colorful fish tales. Admission to Founders Park, with swimming pool, beach, ball fields, fitness path, tennis and dog park, is $6 daily and $8 if using the pool or skate park. The public library and Blue Mountain Cyber Cafe, both three miles away, offer Internet access

Directions by Water
From Hawk's Channel Oceanside: Our Entrance Channel is Whale Harbor Channel with a Green Flashing Number 1. When approaching stay closer to green marker side because it can be very shallow on the red side from the headpin and about 50 yards out. Once you get beyond the Green Headpin, you can center out and should be fine. Entrance channel is 4 1/2 feet at a mean low and 6'6" at high tide. (We have a 2 foot tide). From the Intercoastal, Whale Harbor Channel can be accessed between Red Marker 80 and Red Marker 78A (to the Northeast). The bridge at Whale Harbor Channel has a vertical clearance of 12 feet. If you have a larger vessel, you will need to enter at Red Marker 78A through Snake Creek Channel and exit oceanside. Snake Creek Bridge is a draw bridge (opening every hour on the hour) and has a vertical clearance of 27'. Once Oceanside, travel Southwest for 1 1/2 miles to Whale Harbor Channel. 19 Transient slips available, the largest capable of docking a 100' vessel. The beam of the largest slip is 25'9" wide. That slip is used frequently for visiting catamarans.
