No matter where on the Chesapeake you find yourself this Independence Day, we’ve got you covered. Read on for waterfront 4th of July festivities on the Bay and where to dock for your own private fireworks viewing party.

Havre de Grace, MD

On July , head to Havre to Grace for Independence Day to view spectacular fireworks from the Susquehanna River and enjoy one of two outdoor concerts. Jam out to Delaware-based rock band Love Seed Mama Jump at Hutchins Park or soak in the patriotic tunes of the Maryland Military Band at Concord Point Park. Watch the fireworks from the park or dock on the Susquehanna for front-row seats.

Rock Hall, MD

Dock at the Rock Hall Bulkhead and celebrate Independence Day in Kent County this year. Fireworks over the Rock Hall Harbor are the perfect way to round out a weekend spent at the annual Waterman’s Day festivities.

Chesapeake Beach, MD

Fireworks on dock - Marinalife

Held at the center of town on July 3, you can customize how you want to enjoy Chesapeake Beach’s fireworks show. Picnic with the family at Kellam’s field or have a private viewing party from your boat at Herrington Harbor.

St. Michaels, MD

Before the fireworks begin on July 2, visit the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum for a night of live music on Independence Day. Members can dock at the museum marina, and all guests are welcome on land for a spectacular view of the St. Michaels fireworks display.

Colonial Williamsburg, VA

Come for the finale of the American Music Concert Series; stay for the Lights of Freedom fireworks display. Immerse yourself in the marching music of the American Revolution and a patriotic sing-along before you settle in for fireworks on the Palace Green.

Yorktown, VA

Dock at Riverwalk Landing for a prime view of the fireworks display over the York River. Leading up to the show, lounge on the Yorktown Beach, explore local shops and museums, and enjoy a patriotic parade and concert.

Cape Charles, VA

Cape Charles kicks off Independence Day right with a patriotic parade from Bay Avenue to Mason Avenue, followed by craft and food vendors and contests and festivities all day. Dock at one of several marinas to snag a spectacular view of the fireworks.

Norfolk, VA

Dock at the Town Point Park promenade or Waterside Marina to watch one of Hampton Roads’ most spectacular Independence Day fireworks displays. Before the show starts, walk to the park for classic cookout fare and live music from military brass bands.
