Boating In Frankfort, Michigan

Michigan
A Hidden Gem for Boating Enthusiasts

Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, Frankfort, Michigan is a charming boating destination that offers a wide range of boating opportunities for enthusiasts. With its clear blue waters, sandy beaches, and picturesque scenery, Frankfort is a hidden gem for those looking for a boating destination off the beaten path.

One of the most popular boating destinations in Frankfort is the Point Betsie Lighthouse. Located just a few miles north of the town, the lighthouse is a must-see for any boating enthusiast. Built in 1858, it is one of the oldest lighthouses in Michigan and has been guiding boats safely through the waters of Lake Michigan for over 160 years.

Frankfort is a small town with a big personality. When you're not out on the water, there are plenty of other things to do. The town has a variety of restaurants, cafes, and bars, serving up everything from fresh seafood to craft beer. There are also several shops selling locally-made goods, as well as a weekly farmers' market where you can stock up on fresh produce and other treats.

If you're interested in history, be sure to visit the Frankfort Historical Museum. Housed in an old Coast Guard station, the museum showcases the town's rich maritime heritage and features exhibits on local shipwrecks, the lumber industry, and more.

For those looking for a little adventure, the nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore offers hiking trails, scenic drives, and even dune climbing. And for those looking to relax and unwind, there are several spas in town offering massages, facials, and other treatments.
