How long have you been at the marina and what did you do before you got into the marine industry?

I have been at Newport Marina for 13 years. Before I got into the marine industry, I owned my own salon in East Providence, R.I. I was a barber and stylist, and taught color courses for Redkin. Seven people worked at my salon and I eventually sold it to one of my employees who still runs it today.

What is your favorite movie?

Any James Bond movie. I love them all anything that has to do with women and their accents.

Cake or pie?

Cake! I prefer red velvet or double chocolate cake.

If you could be a professional athlete, what sport would you choose?

Hockey of course.

What is the last book you read?

I usually like to read sport books. However, the last book I read was Mike Stanton's Prince of Providence about the ex-mayor of Providence, R.I.

What is your best childhood vacation memory?

I remember spending the summers with my grandfather at our beach cottage in Matunuck Beach, R.I. We would spend time on the water and watch the fisherman come in.

Do you swim like a fish or like a rock?

I am a good swimmer. I used to swim like a fish now I'm older and I'm out of shape and feel like I have rocks on my legs.

What is the most unusual boat you have seen at the marina?

My own Nalu, a 1975 Squadron Yacht built in Bristol, R.I. It's fiber- glass with a lap straight design. She has an inboard/ outboard engine. The deck and cap rails are teak with a teak spoke steering wheel.

What is the best tip that you can give a new boater?

Take a safe boating course. Do not panic and try to relax. If you get in trouble just put it in neutral.

What is the last thing you think about before you go to sleep? When you wake up in the morning?

You of course! Oh no ... my wife and my family. My two greyhounds, my cat Mia, and our horses Jake and Sully. When I wake up I think Wow I woke up! I call my wife every morning to touch base. She lives in St. Augustine, Fla., while I'm in Newport for the summer.

When was the last time you went out to dinner?

Every night ... just kidding. Well since I'm in Newport I go out to eat 3-4 times a week with business associates or marina clients. My favorite spots for a Long Island Iced Tea are the The Port Grill & Raw Bar or O'Brien's Pub.

Which reality tv show would you want to be on?

The Amazing Race I'm very competitive I love the obstacles and challenges.

What song best describes you?

Most of Jimmy Buffet's songs would describe me like Mother Ocean.
