At the southwest corner of Florida, located just outside of Fort Myers, is Captiva Island, home to South Seas Island Resort. Most famous for wildlife sanctuaries and refuges, South Seas offers a peaceful and relaxing experience for the entire family. Vacationers will remember the true meanings of simplicity and beauty when they experience what this tranquil island offers. Harbor master Charles Martz has been with South Seas for more than six years and notes how many guests return yearly for vacations. We have many families that have been coming back for generations, he says, mainly because of their memories and the serenity of the resort. The resort has two marina facilities: Yacht Harbour Marina and Bayside Marina. Both feature full electric hookups, cable TV and Wi-Fi. Yacht Harbour Marina offers 2,400 linear feet of alongside berthings and up to 60 slips for transient dockage, and houses about 40 boats per week on average. The property at Bayside Marina includes a boat launch and boat rentals. In terms of recreational opportunities, South Seas has something for everyone, whether you're looking for an exciting adventure or to just kick back and relax. The H2WOAH Water Park is the resort's newest family attraction. Other swimming pools, complete with cabanas, are dotted throughout the resort, along with 2.5 miles of beach.

Shelling is a popular activity on Captiva Island. Home to more than 400 types of shells, spanning every color of the rainbow, shells make the ultimate souvenir. The resort also hosts numerous sunset cruises, nature hikes and guided walking tours.Private fishing charters are available, and Sanibel Sea School is a great resource for kids' marine activities. Native fish to the area include redfish, spotted sea trout, cobia and tarpon. Water activities in the area include jet skiing, paddle boarding, kayaking and parasailing. Sailboat rentals are available through Colgate Offshore Sailing School.

South Seas recently launched the Scoutabout for nature-enthusiasts.The outdoor adventure is for guests of all ages and sends scavengers to 15 different locations on the island to search for wildlife such as bottle-nosed dolphins, manatees, bald eagles, osprey, snowy egrets, anoles, cormorants and geckos --- to name a few. Wildlife preservation is a priority on Captiva Island, so much so that sustainable dining choices are served at the resort's many restaurant facilities. The resort supports the local communities and environment by buying products from local and seasonal farmers. Other resort amenities include a 24-hour fitness center, a large tennis complex, the Captiva Island Golf Club, and the Kay Casperson Lifestyle Spa & Boutique. Visit Chadwick's Square's shops and boutiques for an even greater variety of things to explore. South Seas is the perfect spot for a memorable family vacation.

Harbor master Charles Martz agrees, saying, "The resort offers a relaxing atmosphere for the entire family. The beauty of the white sand beaches and the peacefulness of the wildlife make this resort a treasured gem."
